Retirement in Rocky Mount

Friendly People and Small Worlds
Some of the friendliest people live in Rocky Mount, NC. We were out checking on stone for the pond, picking up nails for the last 3 boards on the deck and returning some purchases that didn't work out. We decided to stop and see about picking up the last of the bedding for the guest rooms. Really friendly help at Anna's Linens and we found something that's so going to work for the room with the futon and another rug for the deck. The when we're checking out the lady at the counter asks if I have one of their store cards and then gives me the application for one. As I'm handing it back to her she asks where in NJ I'm from. She recognized the area code on my cell and was from Ocean. The deck looks fabulous, only missing one thing - the hot tub and that we'll be going back to NJ to pick up next week.

Fixing the Deck
Bill has spent the last three days pulling out old nails, flipping boards and re-nailing the boards down. About 2/3 done and looking good. I've been cleaning and going through some stuff. Found pictures that Bill packed over 8 years ago and put in a box he called "frames". Never would have found them if I didn't look through the box. Love the quiet boring life of retirement.
